Artistic Director Olivier Rousteing set about designing the bottles of Chivas XV, the brand’s 15-year-old blend of whiskey aged in cognac barrels.
“Over the past decade, every collaboration I have worked on – whether the partner is best known for beauty, technology, ski wear, classic ballet, perfume or high end fashion – has always involved many inspirations, decisions and shared goals. “Rousteing told WWD.

The first design, in an individually numbered gold bottle, features metal armor and chains reminiscent of Rousteing’s signature aesthetic. The second, released in mid-November, is designed to resemble one of the fashion house’s recent runway styles with symmetrical chains and belts.

“The goal is to make sure that we can really channel the Balmain DNA in everything we do. And each time the challenges, materials and production are, of course, very different, ”he said of the project design process.
“The learning process is so intense and so rewarding,” said Rousteing. “I like working closely with people who are experts in other fields and who are ready to teach me new things – and ultimately what I take away from the process always helps to strengthen the job I’m doing. Balmain, inspiring me to think differently when I return to my clothing sketches.
Co-branded billboards will highlight the collaboration, and there is also a film featuring the label’s celebrity fan club known as Balmain Army partying the night away, which will air at the opportunity to launch on a dedicated website and on Youtube. Members of this exclusive group of aficionados will also receive a Balmain x Chivas XV bottle bag designed by the brand’s accessories team, and pop-up bars with exclusive cocktails are planned in select cities and during the weeks of the mode, with dates and places to be confirmed.
The first design is priced at $ 217, while the second will cost $ 104.
