Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUT, WB) announces a distinctive name as the iconic West Bengal academic and research institution. During the last 20 years of its quintessential existence, it has truly established itself as a leading flagship center of higher education. The university has made powerful forays into the new emerging fields of engineering and technology, science and management, socio-cultural and heritage initiatives, eco-environment, travel tourism and responsibilities social enterprises – which is truly a phenomenal leap forward and a step above other technical universities in India and abroad.

As a State Nodal Technological University, under the direct administrative control of the Department of Higher Education, Govt. from West Bengal, it provides affiliation to more than 200 colleges spread across the state, which offers a wide plethora of UG / PG programs in classical, neoclassical and contemporary branches of engineering and technology, pharmacy, architecture, management, applied sciences, in conjunction with non-AICTE programs of B.Sc., BBA and BCA courses in leading fields. The University has started various professional and professional B.Voc. courses in some affiliated colleges since 2018 in accordance with AICTE and UGC guidelines

With the active sponsorship and support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal, the University has built its sprawling new university campus on an area of ​​almost 40 acres in Haringhata, Nadia – which wins the rarest distinction of “green, clean and environmentally friendly campus”. From there, all academic and administrative machines are centrally managed and coordinated for efficient implementation. The University is ambitiously expanding its internal academic portfolios by launching a large number of new courses, focused on professional and vocational courses, the establishment of new laboratories in advanced and emerging disciplines, the constitution of new schools, centers and departments, by engaging in training and counseling, by launching programs off campus and on satellite campuses, thus pushing the enrollment of students as much as possible.

MAKAUT places a strong emphasis on the adoption of digital technology and the use of digital / online resources available by faculty members and students. The application of learning management systems, reverse learning and mobile learning are the tools of classroom teaching. The University has prepared a repository of online courses from different online subject platforms for its affiliated colleges.
